What does H or V polarization mean?
Polarization allows two programs to be fitted into the same frequency band. The signals from a satellite are transmitted either with Horizontal (H) or Vertical (V) polarization.

What is an LNB?
The Low Noise Block converter (LNB) is an electronic unit mounted on the satellite dish. It receives the signals reflected by the dish and converts them to signals that can be used by Satellite receiver. Quality of the LNBF/LNB is paramount. Ku band LNBF's are measures in DB(Decibals). A good quality Ku band LNBF will have a rating not above .6db. A superior one will be .5db or lower. C band LNB's are measured in degrees. A good quality C band LNB will have a rating of 17 degrees of below.

What is DiSEqC?
DiSEqC is a communication bus between satellite receivers and peripheral equipment such a LNBs, switches, and antenna positioners. DiSEqC communication occurs over the existing coaxial cable.

What is the difference between DVB-S and DVB-S2?
DVB-S and DVB-S2 are transport protocols for DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) over satellite. DVB-S2, an improved revision of DVB-S, is capable of carrying 30% more bandwidth than DVB-S and is generally used for High Defeniton channels.

What is an actuator or rotor?
Also known as a satellite dish positioner or dish mover, this is the electric motor device that moves a dish from left to right(azimuth) and up and down(elevation) in order to receive programming from multiple satellites.
